I borrowed this off of

Diet Soda Don’t think of this as a good substitute. Research shows that the artificial sweeteners in diet sodas can throw off your metabolism, make you gain weight, and increase your risk for diabetes and heart disease. And a study of more than 3,000 women (mostly white) showed that two or more diet drinks a day can be hard on your kidneys.

My comment to this is if you want to lose weight and you are drinking Diet soda all day. Use baby steps and cut back one can. And drink water or lemonade instead. This is what I do when I go to work. Usually around lunch time I'll get a S'mores by Starbucks from my work. Until they don't have it right now. I started out getting the White chocolate energy drink. I think I like the white chocolate better then the dark chocolate. Then I go for tea. By the time my third breaks comes around I'll get a soda pop. I know if you are a diabetic you can't have regular soda. That is ok. Get your favorite Diet soda, but drink other things as well. And watch and see if you don't start losing some weight. I used to be 100 pounds and less. After I had my son I still weight about a hundred pounds, but I have gained about thirty pounds over the year. I have been sustaining 128 to 130. I know it has to do with the drinks I drink and the food I eat. I'm working on learning which food gives you energy so I can do away with these overly caffeinated drinks. I'll do my best to keep you posted. I have to learn to take care of my family first so this way I can take care of yours.
